SSC Havaldar (CBIC / CBN) Eligibility 2026

Who can apply for SSC Havaldar (CBIC / CBN) in 2026 — the age limit, educational qualification, nationality and attempt rules as specified by Staff Selection Commission (SSC). Always confirm against the official notification before applying.

General eligibility

Age: 18-27 years (3 years older than MTS upper limit of 25). Age relaxation: SC/ST +5 yrs, OBC +3 yrs, PwD +10 yrs, ex-servicemen as per rules.
Education: Matriculation (Class 10) pass or equivalent from a recognised board. Same as MTS.
Nationality: Indian citizen, or subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or Tibetan refugee, or person of Indian origin from specified countries.

Physical Standards (PST) — Male

Age: Same as above.
Education: Same as above.
Nationality: Same as above.
Attempts: Height: 157.5 cm (relaxable by 5 cm for Garhwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas, Kumaonis and certain ST candidates). Chest: 81 cm unexpanded with minimum 5 cm expansion.

Physical Standards (PST) — Female

Age: Same as above.
Education: Same as above.
Nationality: Same as above.
Attempts: Height: 152 cm (relaxable by 2.5 cm for certain category candidates). Weight: 48 kg (relaxable by 2 kg for certain candidates). No chest measurement.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Age: Same as above.
Education: Same as above.
Nationality: Same as above.
Attempts: Male: 1600 metres walk in 15 minutes. Female: 1 km walk in 20 minutes. Conducted AFTER the CBT result for shortlisted candidates.
