JEE Main — Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech)

- Computer Based Test (CBT), online, held in two sessions (Jan & April); best score used
- Sections
- Physics · Chemistry · Mathematics (equal weight). Each subject: Section A = 20 MCQs, Section B = 5 numerical-answer questions
- Questions
- 75 compulsory questions (25 per subject)
- Marks
- 300 marks (each question 4 marks)
- Duration
- 3 hours (180 minutes)
- Negative marking
- +4 for a correct answer, −1 for a wrong answer; the −1 negative marking now applies to Section B (numerical) as well
Final ranking uses NTA percentile/normalisation across sessions and shifts; the better of the two session scores is considered.
