How to Prepare for NEET 2026
A focused, no-nonsense way to prepare for NEET in 2026 — 5 key principles plus the reference books aspirants rely on. Then put it into practice with a free NEET mock.
- 1
NCERT is non-negotiable for NEET — especially Biology, where a very large share of questions is lifted almost line-for-line from the NCERT textbooks. Read NCERT Class 11 and 12 Biology multiple times, line by line, including the summary boxes and diagrams, before touching reference books.
- 2
Build a daily routine across all three subjects rather than batching one subject for weeks. Biology is your scoring engine (360 of 720 marks) — protect it with daily revision; Physics needs the most problem practice because it is the usual rank-decider for those who can solve numericals fast and accurately.
- 3
Solve previous-year NEET papers (last 8-10 years) topic-wise. NEET repeats concepts heavily; pattern recognition from PYQs is worth more than solving thousands of random questions. Track which chapters carry the highest weight (Human Physiology, Genetics, Ecology, Organic, Mechanics) and prioritise them.
- 4
Stay strictly within the current NMC-rationalised syllabus. Several topics have been officially removed — studying deleted topics wastes time and is no longer tested. When in doubt, follow the latest NTA/NMC syllabus document, not old material.
- 5
In the last 2-3 months take full-length, timed mock tests under exam conditions to build the 3-hour stamina and the +4/-1 risk judgement (knowing when NOT to attempt a doubtful question). On Kamiyab, Quick Practice mode is for daily topic revision; Full Mock mode replicates the real exam timer and pressure.
