Stage I — Preliminary Examination (qualifying, ऑनलाइन objective)

Stage II — Main Examination (merit-गिनने वाला, ऑनलाइन objective + descriptive)

Stage II marks DO determine final merit. There is NO interview stage — final merit list is generated from Stage II scores alone (candidates must still clear the Stage III Language Proficiency Test, which is only qualifying). Descriptive English typically asks for one essay (200-300 words) and one letter (formal or informal) — both on rural development, banking, social or current-affairs themes. Final merit is calculated category-wise and state-wise per the notification's reservation matrix.
Stage III — Language Proficiency Test (LPT, qualifying only)

The LPT is a mandatory qualifying stage after the Main Examination. Candidates who have studied the state's official/local language up to Class 10 or Class 12 level are EXEMPT from the LPT. Failing to qualify the LPT (when not exempt) disqualifies the candidate despite a merit-qualifying Stage II score.
